The Brains Eden 48 Hr Game Jam has proved to be a big success. I’m pleased to announce that Team Vertigo, from my own University, Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), picked up three prizes (the most of any game) including Best Overall Game, Best Overall Sound, Best Technical, A great result for us at ARU. Team members were:

Team Vertigo (From Anglia Ruskin University)
Serhan Miah
Jason Mitchell
Will Campbell
Robin Burkinshaw

Robin is currently studying on the BSc (Hons) Computer Gaming Technology course, where I teach, and Will Campbell is one of our research students in the Science department. Serhan and Jason are studying on the BA (Hons) Computer Games and Visual Effects degree in the Art School. Their game ‘Trapped’ is set in a dark spaceship environment where players have to collect tools to help navigate their way round. Robin is very active in the indie games scene and his game from last years game jam has also gained a lot of press: Destroy The Brain.

There has been a huge amount of positive feedback on the student games from industry, and a very positive, if intense, experience overall. I will post a link to all the games as soon as it is availabl
